Today I wrote a prayer for the Lord to wrap His loving arms around my dear friend and her family as they struggle with the loss of their beloved child.
Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’ – Isaiah 58:9
Dear God,
My dear friend’s heart is torn and shattered from the loss of her darling grandchild. I lift her and her family up to You as they cry out for help. I ask for Your loving arms to wrap them in Your care as they grieve. May they feel Your presence and know You are with them. May You comfort them in their sorrow and pour out Your peace that only You can provide. May You supply them with strength for each new day. May You surround them with support from friends and family. May You bless them with the hope and assurance they need to move forward. May they cherish the memories they made with Your precious gift You gave them, their beloved child they will always remember and hold dear. May they never doubt Your love for them or lose their faith in You. May they keep Your promises tucked in their hearts and may Your light forever shine within them for all to see! Thank You, God, for Your love and Your grace, and for the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Savior. Amen
